Second Phase of Reconstruction of City Stadium in Zrenjanin Begins – Tender for Works Worth RSD 308 Million Opens

The City Administration of Zrenjanin has opened the tender for the realization of the second phase of the repair and adaptation of the City Stadium, worth RSD 308,014,280.

According to the technical documentation, the plan is to reconstruct the concrete building and the stands and to install a press box. Also, the works entail the execution of construction, carpentry, joinery and electrical installation works for the realization of the full repair of the stadium and the securing of the functionality of the building.

In 2019, the first phase of the reconstruction of the city stadium in Zrenjanin was completed. A total of RSD 190 million was invested in the reconstruction of the running track and the installation of a part of the lighting, so that the facility would be ready for the further development of the infrastructure that would enable the organization of sports events.

At the same time, the second phase of the reconstruction has been announced, entailing the full repair of the stadium for the organization of first- and second-category soccer tournament, as well as athletics tournaments on a European level. The plans for the realization of this project, in which the Provincial Government of Vojvodina and the City of Zrenjanin are taking part together, have been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Early this year, RSD 250 million was set aside for the works.

A deadline period of 365 days is envisaged for the works on the second phase of the reconstruction of the City Stadium, according to the tendering documentation.
