The minister of mining and energy of Serbia, Zorana Mihajlovic, stated yesterday that institutions and companies had been given a deadline until September 15 to prepare plans for the saving of electrical energy.

– We need to try to lower the consumption, and we will also stimulate the citizens who spent less electricity this month compared to last month – Mihajlovic said for RTS.

She added that EPS and the power plants were mostly ready for the winter.

– We have mazut stock for over 100 days, but unplanned events can always happen – Mihajlovic said.

Mihajlovic pointed out that the Open Balkans summit, held in Belgrade, was important for investments and regional connecting.

– The memorandum with Albania provides the possibility of Serbia being part of the project of the construction of a liquified natural gas terminal, whose capacity exceeds five billion cubic meters of gas – she explained and added that the most important thing was for Serbia to be more stable in terms of gas.
