Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said today that she had extremely good meetings in London with UK Secretary of State for Energy Security and Zero Emissions Grant Shapps and UK Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs James Cleverly, with whom she discussed all areas of future bilateral cooperation, the Government of Serbia announced on its website. In an address to journalists in London, Brnabic announced that she had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Shapps in the field of energy, and that Great Britain expressed its desire to participate in Serbia's new energy policy.

– It is about a green transition, about the use of more renewable energy sources, but gradually and in a sustainable way so as not to endanger our energy sector, jobs, but also to preserve our miners and their quality of life – she explained.

According to her, the British administration is interested in all segments of energy – from large hydroelectric power plants, through smaller renewable energy sources, to energy storage and energy efficiency.

The Prime Minister said that she discussed with Cleverly about the new era of bilateral relations between Serbia and Great Britain, assessing that this is precisely achieved by signing agreements, such as the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of energy, but also on infrastructure projects.

– We are working on the "Morava Corridor" construction project with the support of the Great Britain's export bank UK Export Finance, and it is being implemented by the British-American-Turkish company Bechtel ENKA – Brnabic reminded and reiterated that such projects open doors for future cooperation and for much better bilateral relations.
