There will be no electricity and gas price increases this year and the allegations that price increases are being postponed due to the elections and the mild winter are untrue, the minister of mining and energy of Serbia, Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic, pointed out on her Instagram account.

– Back in early November last year, upon the completion of the review of the arrangement with the International Monetary Fund, we told the citizens several times that no price increases were planned for 2024. When it comes to electrical energy, this year, the focus is and will be on the restructuring of EPS, but without any indications that the price per kilowatt-hour will increase – emphasized Djedovic Handanovic.

As she added, the same applies to gas.

– There were uncertainties about how the announced fee for transit through Bulgaria would potentially reflect on the price, but since the fee did not take root, there is no need whatsoever to talk about a gas price increase – pointed out Djedovic Handanovic.
