Đedović Handanović: The plant for flue gas desulphurization at TENT A will be ready in a few days, and then it will enter trial operation

Work on the flue gas desulphurization plant at the Nikola Tesla A thermal power plant will be completed in a few days, when the plant will enter trial operation, announced the Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Đedović Handanović during a tour of the thermal power plant.

As she stated, this is the largest ecological project in a thermal power plant in Europe and the third largest in the world. As she added, almost EUR 215 million has been allocated for that project.

- Izgradnjom ovog postrojenja doprinosimo smanjenju emisija sumpor-dioksida (SO2) čak deset puta, kao i praškastih materija u granicama utvrđenim u EU i nacionalnim propisima, dok će građani Obrenovca, okolnih sela i Beograda imati značajno kvalitetniji vazduh - istakla je Đedović Handanović na društvenim mrežama.

She also stated that the eventual introduction of nuclear energy is a long-term project, but "the return of domestic experts from abroad is already being discussed and the country from which Serbia would import the necessary technology is being discussed."

- It is not a short-term project, we are possibly talking about 2039, 2040, if we were to start working on it now. It is up to us to make plans, we know that it would take at least six years before we could start construction at all - said Đedović Handanović, N1 reported.
