The main railroad Belgrade Center-Stara Pazova-Sid-state border-(Tovarnik)/(Belgrade Center)-Stara Pazova-Novi Sad-Subotica state border-(Kelebija)(segments of international corridors TER8 E-70 and E-85) Stara Pazova section-Golubinci-Sid and the main railroad Indija-Golubinci are part of the rail transit corridor connecting Western and Central Europe with Greece, Turkey and the Middle East, and they are also the most important transport routes of the traffic network of Serbia.

The Spatial Plan which is available for public inspection again aims to modernize the existing railroad which connects Serbia and Croatia (EU) and is part of the main railroad Belgrade-Zagreb and is part of the Pan-European Corridor H, branch “C” and part of the rail cargo corridor The Alps-Western Balkans.

The basic idea behind the modernization and reconstruction of the railroad Belgrade-Sid-Croatia state border Stara Pazova section-Ruma-Sid-Croatia state border entails the forming of a two-track main railroad for mixed (passenger and cargo) traffic on both sides for a planned train speed of up to 200 km/h, whereas the railroad section Indjija-Golubinci is designed as a two-track section (by adding a new track) for a planned train speed of up to 120 km/h as the most rational solution.

The route of the railroad Stara Pazova-Sid-state border, which is the subject of the plan, is 84.2 km long, whereas the length of the Indjija-Golubinci railroad is 4.2 km. Both lengths are given according to the survey marks of the right-hand track. It needs to be noted that the final 1.5 km of the track of the Indjija-Golubinci railroad are located within the station.

Because of the rationalization of the costs of construction and the level of the service, and due to the spatial or other limitations, it was not possible to achieve the speed of 200 km/h on the entire section. In the zone of the Ruma and Sid stations, a speed of 160 km/h has been adopted, whereas, in the zone of the Sremska Mitrovica station, a speed of 120 km/h has been adopted. On the parts of the route Stara Pazova-Golubinci and Indjija-Golubinci, speeds of 160 km/h and 120 km/h have been adopted.

The public inspection lasts until August 26.
