After the budget revision, companies may start getting subsidized liquidity loans again starting early summer, the daily Blic reports.
- It is better to invest that money in the economy's liquidity than in the current budget liquidity - Vladimir Cupic, the chairman of the AIK banka Executive Board, told Blic.
- The economy always needs loans, cheap ones if possible, in order to be more competitive. Money is not a problem for banks, but they find it difficult to decide who should get the loan. However, subsidies are significant for exporters as well - Ninko Tesic, the general manager of Sevojno-based Impol Seval, confirmed to Blic.
- Liquid firms export goods, achieve good results, have no problems getting loans and maintaining liquidity, while those having business issues experience such problems. However, banks are even more cautious than they should be because of "bad" loan users that have put them in the situation to have a large number of non-performing loans - Tesic explained.
Due to these non-performing loans, banks now conduct a more rigorous procedure.
According to Nebojsa Matic, the director of Mikrolektronika, the main problem of businessmen is their lack of trust in the state.
Share of bad loans on decline
According to the latest data provided by the Association of Banks, non-performing loans account for 29.1 percent of all loans granted to the economy sector and 21.5 percent of those extended to businessmen. Veroljub Dugalic, the secretary general of the Association of Banks, says that the share of bad loans always drops when the state grants subsidized loans.
