Serbia has so far signed contracts to import electricity for EUR 62 million. As Blic reports, it will be necessary to make arrangements for the import of at least another EUR 40 million worth of electrical power. According to this daily, the ordered electricity has not been paid yet.
- Although it is early for estimates, it is not impossible that the sum to pay for energy stability during the winter may reach EUR 150 million - Blic cites its source as saying.

This source adds that this will depend not only on the price of imported electricity, but also on the amount of coal extracted from Kolubara mines that are still mostly flooded. The later the full coal exploration capacity is reached, the more electricity will have to be imported.

According to a calculation made by the Finance Ministry and reviewed by the Government last week, electricity price should first go up 30 percent and then another 20 percent in order to secure money for these exports. Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic is against this price increase.
People at the Energy Ministry said yesterday that before a decision was made to increase the price of electricity, all factors and consequences of such an action must be taken into consideration.
