Milorad Grcic has resigned from the position of the acting director of Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS), Belgrade media report today.

They cite Grcic’s letter, which, they say, was sent to the highest state authorities, in which he allegedly says that “if it is allowed for the electrical energy system of Serbia to be managed by people like Zorana Mihajlovic, Serbia will be in a truly sorry state, vulnerable to anything”.

In the past month, the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has publicly called on Grcic on several occasions to accept the responsibility for the numerous major malfunctions at EPS and promised that it will happen when “the system is stabilized”.

It is not known at the moment who will succeed Grcic, but the media speculate that it might be Miroslav Tomasevic.
