The length of the second phase of line 1 is 4.9 km with 5 stations, while the length of line 2 is 20.6 km with 23 stations.
The study on engineering-geological-geotechnical conditions of construction refers to the second phase of construction of Line 1 of the Belgrade metro from Karaburma station to Mirijevo station and Line 2 from Mirijevo station to Bezanija station. The total length of the section that is the subject of public procurement includes 25.5 kilometers with 27 stations.
As stated in the tender, the geotechnical documentation should define all engineering-geological and geotechnical conditions for making a preliminary design for the construction of the second phase of metro line 1 and line 2.
- Within the laboratory geomechanical soil tests, all of the tests required for defining the geotechnical conditions for the metro construction should be performed. The main purpose of the documentation is to define the condition and properties of the terrain and rock formations, as well as the conditions in the field that will be artificially created during the implementation of the metro system, and based on which geotechnical conditions and recommendations for construction of the future metro line will be defined.
The deadlines for dynamic framework plans for the preparation of geotechnical documentation for the second phase of line 1 and the line 2, are 30 and 60 days, respectively.
The deadline for submitting bids is July 20.
To remind our readers, based on the previous feasibility study with the general project, two lines of the Belgrade metro have been defined for now, while the conceptual solution for the third line is still being worked on.

In early June, the Belgrade councilors adopted the Decision on the amendment of the Decision on the development of the plan of general regulation of rail systems in Belgrade with elements of detailed elaboration for the first phase of the metro line 1.
As announced by Deputy Mayor Goran Vesic in late May, around 90% of the geological exploration wells out of 123 planned were completed on the route of the first line of the future metro, and about fifty percent were tested in the laboratory.
- We should very soon sign a contract with the company Egis for the blueprint of line 2 and for the conceptual design of line 3 - Vesic stated for TV Pink at the time.
Before that, the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Tomislav Momirovic, stated that the construction of the metro line 1 will begin in the spring next year.
